Across rural Maharashtra, lakhs of women have the will to earn. What they often lack is the way to get there.
Vocational institutes are far, courses are unaffordable, learning isn’t available in their language, and too many programmes end where the real challenge begins: after the certificate.
Project Saksham Mahila is designed to bridge that gap with free certified training in Marathi, accessible on her own phone, and year long support that takes her from learning and practice to mentoring, enterprise registration and her first steps towards the market.
THE 12-MONTH JOURNEY
01
She chooses one of four certified skill bundles, each with six courses in Marathi. Her learning begins on her own phone through the free eSaheli Saksham Card.
02
On Day 1 she receives the 12-item eSaheli Business Starter Kit with the tools she needs to start thinking and working like an entrepreneur.
03
She begins with an enrolment and onboarding event and returns at six months for entrepreneurship training, financial literacy, Udyam registration and formal certification. Both events also bring access to health, yoga and self defence initiatives.
04
Her learning continues beyond the lessons. She practises, shares her work and receives personal feedback from her tutor, backed by four levels of support throughout the year.
05
At six months, an on site Udyam registration desk helps turn her training into a formal enterprise. Marketplace listings, exhibitions and placement support help her take the next step towards earning.
06
Her achievement is celebrated publicly with a formal certificate ceremony. For many women, it is their first certificate and a powerful moment of recognition for her work within her family and community.
Four skill bundles. Six certified courses in each. She chooses the trade that fits her interests, abilities and aspirations.
The platform teaches her the trade. The kit equips her to run the business. From taking an order and issuing a bill to accepting digital payments, keeping accounts and putting a name to her enterprise, the eSaheli Business Starter Kit gives her the practical tools that most vocational courses leave out. One standardised kit, identical across all four bundles, is placed in her hands on Day 1.
Every item is procured directly by the Foundation at component level and the kits are assembled in-house, reducing intermediary margins so more of the programme budget reaches each woman in the form of practical support.
Project Saksham Mahila brings the programme into the community, creating two moments that mark the beginning and progress of every woman’s journey.
Held at the Gram Panchayat hall for 100–200 women, the day brings everything together in one place. She chooses her skill bundle, gets introduced to the eSaheli platform, completes her onboarding and receives her Business Starter Kit.
Alongside the programme, women can access free medical check-ups and awareness sessions conducted with partner NGOs.
Six months into her journey, she returns for practical training in pricing, basic finance and customer acquisition, followed by on-site Udyam registration and her formal certification ceremony.
Her achievement is celebrated before her family and community, with selected women felicitated on stage and trade relevant gifts awarded through a lucky draw.
Learning does not stop when she receives access to the platform. Throughout the year, she has someone to turn to, someone to learn from and a community to learn with.
AI Helpdesk: Get instant answers to course and app related questions, anytime through the eSaheli platform.
Monthly Live Q&A: A one hour live session every month with an expert tutor for her chosen bundle. Every session is recorded and shared so she never misses out.
Her Tutor’s WhatsApp Group: A dedicated group for each skill bundle, moderated by her tutor. She learns alongside women pursuing the same trade and can receive direct guidance on her work.
Dedicated Helpline: When she needs additional help, a dedicated helpline is there to resolve access, software or course related difficulties.
She completes the assignment under each chapter, photographs her work, and posts it to her group — where her tutor personally reviews it, corrects it, and encourages her. And from month thirteen onwards, her community membership is permanent.
OUTCOMES & ACCOUNTABILITY
Our North Star metric is the number of women entrepreneurs created — not enrolments, not downloads, not certificates alone.
We commit that 75%+ of every batch will be enterprise-ready: course completed, certified, Udyam-registered, and onboarded to marketplace or placement support.
Income outcomes are tracked and reported quarterly to every sponsor — honestly, as they occur.

Camps Completed
Every camp is documented with dates, locations, beneficiary counts and consent cleared photographs, and published on our Camp Reports page. Quarterly reports and fund utilisation statements go to every sponsor. Audited financials are available on request.
The full reference document — programme design month by month, the kit, the events, costing structure, outcome framework, governance and compliance — the same document we place before CSR committees and foundations.

STORIES & CAMP REPORTS
"The course was in Marathi, on my phone. I didn't have to go anywhere, and now I run my own small tailoring business. I registered it myself."
